The Aluminess PowerLift Bike Rack is designed to be used exclusively with the Aluminess Base Unit. To ensure proper fitment, please review the following details:
- Base Unit Compatibility: The PowerLift is compatible with both the current (Gen 2) Aluminess Base unit as well as the previous Gen 1 model and Owl B2 base unit. If you do not have an Aluminess BackPAC Base Unit, we offer a package that includes this.
- Hinge Requirements: This rack is not compatible with 270-degree door hinges and requires 180-degree hinges for proper use. If your vehicle has 270-degree hinges, we offer a 180-degree hinge kit for easy conversion.
- Comprehensive Kits Available: Whether you need a base unit, a hinge conversion, or both, Aluminess offers kits to ensure seamless installation.
This 180-degree door hinge kit is designed specifically for the top and bottom positions of your rear van doors, ensuring smooth operation and long-lasting performance. Engineered to meet OEM specifications for 2019-UP Mercedes Sprinter vans (VS30), these hinges allow the rear doors to open a full 180 degrees, providing easy access for loading and unloading.
These hinges are a critical component for the Aluminess PowerLift Bike Rack, which requires 180-degree hinges for proper function. If your vehicle currently has 270-degree hinges, the PowerLift is not compatible. However, we offer this hinge kit to allow for a seamless conversion, ensuring proper installation and use of the PowerLift.

The brackets are laser cut and CNC bent 304 stainless steel with a wrinkle black UV-resistant powdercoat finish. This results in a precision fit, exceptional strength, and class-leading durability. Stainless steel locking hardware and anti-seize are include to make install a simple task.
Available in two kits – one for Sprinter & ProMaster, one for Ford Transit. The Sprinter and ProMaster kits include three similar brackets, whereas the Transit kit features an offset front to align with the slider door. Be sure to choose the correct option for your van!
