Welcome to Aluminess's Builder Spotlight!

Titan Vans

Established in Boulder, Colorado, Titan Vans has earned a reputation for building thoughtfully engineered camper vans that balance performance, durability, and long-term reliability. Their vehicles are frequently found at ski areas, trailheads, climbing destinations, and remote campsites throughout the West because they were designed and built by genuine outdoor enthusiasts.

What began as a passion for adventure travel has evolved into one of the industry’s most respected custom van builders. Yet despite that growth, Titan’s mission remains unchanged: create vehicles that allow customers to travel farther, stay longer, and pursue their adventures with confidence.

They do it all with a Japanese-inspired meticulous process and implementation.

Built on Engineering

The foundation of Titan Vans can be traced back to founder Matt North.

A graduate of the Colorado School of Mines with nearly two decades of personal camper van building experience, North established Titan with an engineering mindset that continues to influence every aspect of the company today. That focus is visible not only in the finished vehicles but throughout the design, manufacturing, and customer experience itself.

Titan operates as both an RVIA-certified manufacturer and a Mercedes-Benz eXpertUpfitter, distinctions that reflect a commitment to quality, safety, and process. Their facility utilizes advanced CAD design, CNC manufacturing equipment, and lean production methods to ensure consistency throughout every build.

While customers may never see the engineering that goes into a wiring harness, water system, or structural component, they experience the results every time they hit the road. Reliability, serviceability, and durability are not marketing terms at Titan. They are design requirements.

A Different Kind of Customer Consultation

Every Titan Van build begins with a conversation with experienced builders who have spent years living and traveling in adventure vehicles themselves. During the consultation process, customers work directly with Titan’s leadership and sales team to identify how the vehicle will be used and what capabilities matter most.

By understanding where customers travel, who travels with them, and how they spend their time once they arrive, Titan can recommend solutions that align with actual use rather than perceived needs.

That philosophy carries through the entire experience. Customers are encouraged to tour the production facility, walk through active builds, and see firsthand how various systems and layouts function in the real world. The process creates a deeper understanding of the vehicle and helps ensure that every decision serves a purpose.

"Titan Vans customers are primarily driven by a passion for the outdoors. Whether they are climbers, skiers, mountain bikers, or "dirt-baggers extraordinaire," they seek vehicles that serve as a reliable basecamp for their specific pursuits. During our personal consultations, we focus on where they plan to travel, who they are traveling with, and exactly what they want to do once they reach their destination. "

Built for the People Who Actually Use Them

Titan customers tend to share a common trait.

They are doers. Mountain bikers. Climbers. Skiers. Surfers. Travelers. People who view a van not as a destination but as a means to reach one.

For these customers, the vehicle functions as a mobile basecamp. It needs to be comfortable enough for extended travel while remaining rugged enough to handle the realities of life outdoors.

That reality influences every major design decision.

Titan’s modular interiors allow kitchens, cabinetry, sleeping systems, and storage solutions to adapt as needs change. Their electrical systems are engineered for reliability and serviceability. Water systems are manufactured in-house to maximize space efficiency and weight distribution. Heating, insulation, and climate control are selected to support year-round use in demanding environments.

The result is a vehicle that can evolve with its owner rather than forcing the owner to adapt to the vehicle.

Why Aluminess Fits the Titan Philosophy

Titan’s partnership with Aluminess is rooted in a shared belief that every component should contribute to the overall capability of the vehicle.

Much like Titan’s approach to interior systems, Aluminess products are selected because they solve real-world challenges while maintaining durability and long-term usability.

Many Titan builds incorporate Aluminess roof racks, rear cargo solutions, ladders, running boards, and bike-carrying systems. These products expand storage capacity, improve accessibility, and allow customers to keep bulky, wet, or dirty gear outside the living space where it belongs.

The alignment extends beyond functionality.

Titan places a strong emphasis on weight management, system integration, and long-term performance. Aluminess’ lightweight aluminum construction supports those goals while delivering the durability required for life on the road.

Popular additions include the Recon Modular Roof Rack, PowerLift Bike Rack, Rear Door Platforms, Cargo Boxes, Ladder Systems, and Side Steps. All components that have become common sights on Titan builds serve everyone from mountain bikers to backcountry skiers.

More Than a Builder

As the company has grown, so has its role within the adventure vehicle community.

Titan now offers service, upgrades, repairs, and installations across multiple vehicle platforms, including Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ford Transit, Ram ProMaster, Winnebago Revel, Winnebago Ekko, and Storyteller Overland models.

This broader service capability reflects an understanding that ownership does not end when the keys are handed over.

Vehicles evolve. Travel styles change. Systems require maintenance and upgrades. Titan’s ability to support customers long after delivery has become an important extension of the brand.
